    What decides
    your number.

No mystery. These are the same things we look at when we buy stock from the cutting houses.

    • Cut and proportions

How much light comes back. A well-cut stone resells easily, so we pay more for it.

    • Colour and clarity

Graded under daylight-balanced lamps and a 10x loupe, with you at the table.

    • Weight bands

      Prices step up at 0.50, 0.90, 1.00, 1.50 and 2.00 ct. A 0.98 ct and a 1.01 ct are priced very differently.

    • Certificate

A GIA or IGI report saves a re-grade and usually lifts the offer. No report is fine too.

    • Fluorescence

Strong blue fluorescence can dull a high-colour stone. We test it with a UV lamp in front of you.

    • Condition

Chips and abraded facet edges cost money to re-polish. We show you anything we find.

    • The day's market

Trade prices move. The offer is fixed for 48 hours whatever happens in between.

    • Gold, if set

Set pieces: the gold is paid by hallmarked weight at the day's rate, on top of the stones.

    Questions
    sellers ask.

Do I need a certificate to sell?

No. A GIA or IGI report helps and saves time, but we grade every stone ourselves in front of you either way.

Will the offer change after inspection?

The written offer is made after inspection, so there is nothing left to change. It holds for 48 hours.

Do you buy jewellery, or only loose stones?

Both. For set pieces we price the diamonds and pay for the gold by hallmarked weight at the day's rate.

    How fast am I paid?

The same working day you accept, by bank transfer to an account in your name.

Can I exchange instead of selling?

Yes. Put the full offer towards any piece in the vault or a bespoke design.

    Is insured pickup safe?

Pickup is by an insured courier, sealed in front of you, and covered for the full declared value until it reaches our desk.

    Rather talk first?

    One message.
    A real person.
